报告摘要

Over the past decade, DNA-encoded library (DEL) screening technology has gradually demonstrated its significant role in the early discovery of hit compounds. To meet increasingly stringent requirements and accommodate various screening approaches, DEL chemistry has continuously expanded chemical space and optimized physicochemical properties through two main strategies: building block (BB) selection and reaction development. The aim is to identify hit compounds with higher drug-likeness through screening. Meanwhile, due to the diversity of target proteins requested by clients, library design strategies have become more flexible. As a result, specialized libraries such as covalent, cyclic peptide, RNA focused and bi-functional molecule libraries have been developed to suit different screening methods.

报告人简介

Dr. Qi Zhang obtained his Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from Fudan University and Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Iowa, where he studied under Professor Hien M. Nguyen, focusing on transition metal-catalyzed C–F bond formation. He has previously worked at Viva Biotech and ORIC Pharmaceuticals, with over five years of experience in medicinal chemistry research. In 2020, he joined WuXi AppTec, where he is engaged in the development and application of DNA-compatible reactions for DEL, as well as the design and construction of various types of DEL libraries and screening projects.
