Behnaz Ghaffari’s current research interests are centered around the development of novel synthetic routes to fluorochemicals.

报告人简介

Prof. Behnaz Ghaffari has a B.S/M.S. with Honors in Chemistry, from Shiraz University, Iran in 2010 has a Ph.D. in chemistry from Michigan State University (2016) under supervision of Prof. Mitch Smith and Rob Maleczka) where she researched C-H activation/borylation chemistry including synthesis, characterization, and mechanistic studies of homogeneous catalytic systems. Then Moved to ETH Zurich and worked as research fellow in the lab of Professor Christophe Copéret working on surface organometallic chemistry, developing and characterizing heterogeneous catalysts for organic transformations. Prior to joining Arkema, she was a Mitacs Elevate Industrial Post-Doctoral Fellow at department of chemistry, and Center for Catalysis, Research and Innovation at University of Ottawa with Professor Tom Baker where she contributed to the development of novel synthetic routes to fluorochemicals. Since 2023, at Fluorochemical groups of Arkema, she is Global project lead for the development of novel specialty precursors and intermediates, and open Innovation Lead for university collaborations.
